How do I translate and certify my documents?
Here are some answers to the most common questions we are asked about our language translation services.
Lingo Service is a translation agency based in the UK, translating more than 250 languages - from the most commonly used languages such as Spanish, Italian, French, Russian, German and Arabic to the more rare dialects such as Amharic, Hausa, Igbo, Yiddish and Afrikaans. We have over 4000 linguists on our database and are able to translate into almost any language. If you’re looking to translate into a language we haven’t listed on our website, then please get in touch.
It really depends on the word count and complexity of the document or text. However, for standard documents, we offer a same-day urgent translation service. If you require a hard certified copy sent to your address, please allow one to two working days for postage. We also offer a certified copy sent straight to your email, as part of our service.
We have two offices in the UK, based in London and Cardiff and our certified translations are accepted by the home office and most UK authorities. However, we conduct most of our business online; enabling you to electronically upload the document you wish to be translated, securely make a payment, and then once completed, receive your certified document via email.
Our translators are all qualified professional linguists, native to their target language, each having a minimum of two years relevant experience in translation and further qualifications in a dedicated subject. This ensures that whether you require a legal, medical, technical, fiction or scientific document to be translated, the correct context and terminology will be used. We have an extensive database of translators to ensure that each translation project is given to the most suitable linguist.
If you need to translate a company brochure, portfolio or booklet that was designed for printing or online publishing purposes, then you’ll need our Desktop Publishing Service. If your text has special layout or formatting requirements (pictures, backgrounds, tables and columns) then you’ll require Typesetting, whereby we are able to create a mirror image of the translated text to match the source language created in the same application.
We accept payment via PayPal, Debit/Credit Card, Moneybookers or by bank transfer in Pounds Stirling, USD or Euros. You can pay online, by phone or direct into our account.
This is determined by a number of factors as each quote is tailored to the individual customer requirements. However, target language, document size, specialisation, the complexity of the document, layout and translation timescale all play a factor in determining the cost of your project. In order to give you an accurate quote, we need to see the document/s you wish to be translated to determine the estimated word count and delivery time. Please contact us for a free no-obligation quotation today!
Certified translations are often needed for official authorities. If you are submitting your document to the Home Office, Foreign Commonwealth Office, an Embassy or any other official government department, you may be asked to provide a certified translation by a professional translation company, such as us. A certified translation from Lingo Service will be printed on company headed paper, signed, stamped and accompanied by a certifying letter which would have been signed by the project manager in charge of your translation. Confirming that the translation is true and accurate to the original document provided to us.
We can translate marriage, divorce and birth certificates, diplomas, high school certificates, university degrees and training course certificates to name but a few. If you also require notarization for any of your translated documents, a small fee will apply.
Lingo Service Translations are committed to ensuring that your translations are of the highest quality. We take our quality assurance procedures seriously and follow very strict guidelines when selecting our translators, and are consistently running quality control checks. However, if you are not happy with the service that we’ve provided, then please contact us and we will do our very best to put things right!
If you have any further questions please contact us and we will be in touch as soon as possible.
