Already translated it with AI?
We'll check it and make it official.

When AI translation isn't enough for the Home Office

AI tools are fast and free — but UK authorities need more than speed. Here's where raw AI output typically fails on official documents.

Names and dates drift

AI silently transliterates names differently across the same document. A visa is refused when your passport says one spelling and the translation says another.

Legal terms flatten

"Witness statement", "testimony" and "declaration" aren't interchangeable — but AI swaps them freely. UK courts notice, and reject.

No certification = no acceptance

UKVI doesn't accept uncertified translations regardless of quality. You need a qualified translator's signature, stamp and statement of truth — that's what we provide.

How we turn your AI draft into a certified translation

Four steps. No guesswork. You always see the price before any work starts.

1

Upload your AI draft and the original

PDF, Word, photo, screenshot — anything readable. Upload your ChatGPT, DeepL, Google Translate output alongside the source document.

2

We assess — Light or Heavy

Within 2 working hours we email your quote, turnaround, and which tier applies. Free assessment, no obligation.

3

An ITI-qualified linguist does the work

Line-by-line comparison with the original, corrections, and they sign the certification on their own professional name.

4

You receive your certified PDF

Full statement of truth, signature, stamp and translator accreditation — identical in every respect to any certified translation.

What gets checked

Every AI translation we receive goes through these checks — because every one of them is a reason we've seen UK authorities reject a document.

Names, spellings and transliterations match your passport and ID exactly — no drift between pages

Dates in the format the receiving authority expects (DD/MM/YYYY for UK, and matching numeral system of the original)

Legal terminology precise to UK equivalents — not AI-generic paraphrase

Figures, amounts and reference numbers carried across without silent rounding

Addresses, institution names and official titles preserved in their official form

Document structure, stamps, signatures and annotations fully described as required by UK authorities

Certification letter with translator name, ITI/CIOL membership number, signature, date and statement of truth

Certified translations accepted by

UKVI · Home Office · HM Passport Office · HM Courts & Tribunals · NHS · UK universities · UK banks · Local councils

"Accepted by" means these bodies accept our certified translations when submitted in line with their guidance. We do not claim endorsement or an official approved-providers register — no such register exists for UKVI.

Transparent two-tier pricing

We assess your draft first. You see the price and tier before any work begins.

Frequently asked questions

Everything we get asked about AI translation and UK certification.

Can I use ChatGPT or Google Translate for a UK visa application?
You can use it to draft the translation, but UKVI will only accept the translation once a qualified translator has reviewed, corrected and certified it. Raw AI output on its own is not accepted by the Home Office.
Is a DeepL translation accepted by the Home Office?
Not on its own. The Home Office requires a statement of truth from a qualified translator, with their signature and details. We can review your DeepL draft, correct any errors against the original, and issue that certification.
Can I certify my own translation?
Only if you are a qualified translator (ITI or CIOL member, or equivalent accreditation) translating into your native language. If you are, you do not need us. If you are not, UK authorities will reject a self-certified translation.
What if my AI translation has a lot of errors?
That is our Heavy tier (from £60). We will assess the draft first and tell you the tier and price before starting. In rare cases where the AI output is not salvageable, we will quote at our standard certified translation rate so you are not paying twice for the same work.
How is this different from your certified translation service?
On our standard certified translation service we translate the document from scratch. On this page, you bring the draft you already created with AI, and our linguist reviews, corrects and certifies it. The final certified document is identical in format and acceptance.
How is this different from proofreading?
Proofreading polishes grammar and style but does not include certification. This service includes the full certification with translator signature, stamp and statement of truth required by UK authorities.
Will the Home Office know my translation started as AI?
No. The final certified document carries our linguist's name, professional accreditation and signature, exactly like any certified translation produced from scratch. The linguist takes professional responsibility for the corrected text.
Which languages do you cover?
Over 200 languages. Our linguists only review and certify languages they are qualified in, so the translator who signs your document is a native speaker of the target language with accreditation in that language pair.
Can you certify a translation I paid someone else to do?
Usually yes. The same Light and Heavy assessment applies. If the previous translator was unqualified and the quality is poor, we may need to redo substantial portions — we will quote you before starting any work.
How fast is it?
Standard turnaround is 24 hours for Light review and 48 hours for Heavy review. We do not offer same-day for this service because the translator's professional signature is on the line and we refuse to rush certification work.
