Frequently asked
Do I need an apostille or embassy legalisation?
If the destination country is a member of the Hague Convention, an FCDO apostille is sufficient. If not, you need full embassy legalisation in addition to the apostille. Use our legalisation checker tool to see which applies.
What does FCDO legalisation cost?
The FCDO charges £45 per document for standard service (around 2 weeks) or £75 for premium (next working day). Our handling fee is added on top of the FCDO cost.
How long does embassy legalisation take?
Embassy timelines vary widely by country: 3 to 5 working days for Gulf embassies, up to 6 weeks for some African and Asian embassies. We tell you the realistic timeline before you commit.
Do you handle translation as part of the legalisation chain?
Yes. We translate, certify, notarise where needed, and obtain the apostille or embassy stamp as a single managed workflow. You send us the original, we return the fully legalised set ready to submit.
What documents typically need legalisation?
Common ones include birth, marriage, and death certificates (visas, residency, family applications), degree certificates and academic transcripts (overseas work or study), powers of attorney, company incorporation documents, criminal record certificates (visa, employment), and commercial agreements (cross-border deals).
