What this service is, and what it isn't

We check and correct AI translations

A qualified linguist verifies your draft line by line against the original document and puts right anything the AI got wrong: names, dates, figures, terminology, missing or invented text. You see exactly what changed.

We do not certify AI translations

No honest provider can. A certified translation is one a translation company produces and signs as its own work, confirmed as a "true and accurate translation of the original document". If your document is for a visa, a court or a university, you need our Certified Translation service: we translate your original from scratch.

Where AI translations go wrong

AI tools are fast and free, and for casual use they are often fine. These are the failures we keep finding when the text actually matters.

Names and dates drift

AI silently transliterates names differently across the same document, and shifts date formats between pages. In anything formal, a mismatch with your other paperwork causes real problems.

Specialist terms flatten

"Witness statement", "testimony" and "declaration" are not interchangeable, but AI swaps them freely. The same happens with medical, financial and technical vocabulary.

AI invents text

In one peer-reviewed medical study, ChatGPT replaced an entire paragraph of a patient document with made-up text, and error rates in some languages passed 35%. AI errors are confident, silent and easy to miss.

How the AI translation check works

Four steps. No guesswork. You always see the price before any work starts.

1

Upload your AI draft and the original

PDF, Word, photo, screenshot, anything readable. Upload your ChatGPT, DeepL, Google Translate output alongside the source document.

2

We assess, Light or Heavy

Within 2 working hours we email your quote, turnaround, and which tier applies. Free assessment, no obligation.

3

A qualified linguist does the work

Line-by-line comparison with the original document, correcting names, dates, terms, meaning and anything missing or invented.

4

You receive the corrected translation

Your corrected translation as a clean file, plus a plain-English note of what we fixed.

What gets checked

Every AI translation we receive goes through the same line-by-line checks, because these are the errors we keep finding in AI drafts.

Names, spellings and transliterations match your passport and ID exactly, no drift between pages

Dates in the right format (DD/MM/YYYY for UK) and matching the numeral system of the original

Specialist terminology precise to real UK equivalents, not AI-generic paraphrase

Figures, amounts and reference numbers carried across without silent rounding

Addresses, institution names and official titles preserved in their proper form

Document structure, stamps, signatures and annotations accounted for, nothing silently dropped

Missing or invented passages caught: AI can quietly skip lines or add text that was never in the original

A plain-English summary of every significant fix, so you know exactly what changed

Where is your document going?

Honest advice first: AI is fine for some jobs, wrong for others. Match the route to the stakes.

Casual and personal use

Reading a letter, understanding a webpage, getting the gist: AI alone is usually fine. Watch names and numbers, that is where it slips most.

Business and internal use

Websites, product copy, contracts you need to understand, reports you will act on: this check service is built for exactly that. For bulk volume, post-editing may fit better.

Visas, courts and universities

AI is the wrong route entirely, checked or not. These need a translation we produce from your original document and stand behind as our own work. Certified Translation →

Transparent two-tier pricing

We assess your draft first. You see the price and tier before any work begins.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about AI translation and human checking.

Can I use ChatGPT or Google Translate for a UK visa application?
No. UKVI requires a full translation with the translator's signed confirmation that it is accurate, plus their name, the date and their contact details. A translator can only confirm work they take responsibility for, so an AI draft cannot meet the requirement however good it is. Visa documents need our certified translation service, where we translate your original document from scratch.
Is a DeepL translation accepted by the Home Office?
Not on its own, and not after editing either. The Home Office asks for confirmation of accuracy from the translator, with their name, signature and contact details. If your document is for the Home Office, the safe route is a fresh translation through our certified translation service.
Can you certify my AI translation?
No, and be careful of anyone who says yes. Certification means a translation company confirms accuracy and takes responsibility for the translation as its own professional work. What we offer here is different: we check and correct your AI translation for business or personal use. If you need a certified translation, we produce one from your original document from scratch.
Is ChatGPT good at translation?
For everyday text in major languages it is often decent. Accuracy drops sharply in other languages and in technical or legal content: one peer-reviewed medical study measured error rates from under 4% in Spanish to over 35% in Russian, and found ChatGPT had replaced an entire paragraph with invented text. That is why a human check matters for anything important.
What exactly does the check include?
A qualified linguist compares your AI translation line by line against the original document: names, dates, figures, terminology, missing or invented text, and overall meaning. You get back the corrected translation plus a plain-English note of what we fixed.
What if my AI translation has a lot of errors?
That is our Heavy tier (from £60). We assess the draft first, free, and tell you the tier and price before starting. If the AI output is beyond saving, we tell you straight and quote a fresh translation instead, so you are not paying twice for the same work.
How is this different from proofreading?
Proofreading polishes grammar and style in the translated text alone. This check verifies the translation against the original document, which is where AI errors hide: wrong names, shifted dates, missing lines and mistranslated terms.
How is this different from machine translation post-editing?
Light post-editing (from £0.03 per word) makes bulk AI text readable for internal business use. This check is a full line-by-line verification of accuracy against the original, done by a qualified linguist, for documents where the details matter.
Which languages do you cover?
Over 260 languages. Your draft is only ever checked by a linguist qualified in that language pair, working into their native language.
How fast is it?
Standard turnaround is 24 hours for a Light check and 48 hours for a Heavy check, with a free assessment within 2 working hours. We do not rush this work: careful checking is the whole point.
