Lingo Service Translations Achieves ISO 9001 and ISO 17100 Certification
Lingo Service Translations is now certified to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17100:2015 following independent audits by URS, a UKAS accredited certification body. Here is what the standards cover and how to verify our certificates.
Lingo Service Translations
Lingo Service Translations has been certified to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17100:2015, following independent audits carried out by URS (United Registrar of Systems), a UKAS accredited certification body. Both certificates were issued on 22 August 2026 and are valid until 21 August 2029.
What the certifications cover
ISO 17100 is the international standard written specifically for translation services. It sets requirements for translator qualifications, the translation process itself, and the resources behind it. The requirement clients notice most: every translation is produced by a qualified professional translator and then revised in full by a second, independent linguist before delivery.
ISO 9001 is the international standard for quality management. It covers how the whole company runs: how work is quoted, planned, produced, checked and delivered, and how problems are recorded and fixed so they do not repeat.
The certification covers our certified translation work for the Home Office, universities, courts and employers, our legal, medical, technical and business translation services, and our Arabic Translation UK brand.
Verifying our certificates
Our certificate numbers are 217132/B/0001/UK/En for ISO 9001 and 217132/A/0001/NA/En for ISO 17100. The numbers are printed on every certified translation we issue, and certification records appear on the International Accreditation Forum's public database, CertSearch.
Alongside our other credentials
The ISO certifications join our existing credentials: Cyber Essentials certification, the UK government backed cyber security scheme, certified in July 2026; corporate membership of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI); and membership of the Association of Translation Companies (ATC).
What changes for clients
In day to day terms, very little, and that is the point. The audits examined the way we already work: qualified translators, full revision by a second linguist, and documented quality management on every order. The certificates put independent, internationally recognised verification behind it.
